Summer Party in the Park

Culture Works Stages Performance at the Miami Valley Research Park

On Wednesday, August 29, 2012, the Miami Valley Research Park held an end of summer "Party in the Park" featuring performers from Culture Works; pizza selections from Domino's Pizza; and frozen treats from Ritter's Frozen Custard.

The Fountain Plaza was center stage for Michael Bashaw & Puzzle of Light Band and The Dayton Jazz Trio with Michael Teckenbrock, Eddie Brookshire and Jim Smith as they provided entertainment with their smooth vocals and established jazz sounds. Both groups were well received by the nearly 300 Research Park attendees.

Culture Works representatives, Martine Collier, President & CEO, and Shelley Outlaw, Director of Workplace Giving and Special Projects, were on hand to provide the Park guests with information on the organization, the Passport to the Arts Program, and the importance of supporting the arts and culture on a local, regional and national level stemming from the Dayton region.

Ritter's Frozen Custard served up some tasty treats that included strawberry or raspberry gelato and classic chocolate or vanilla sundaes.

Bruce Pearson, President & CEO, of the Miami Valley Research Park said the Research Park is pleased to partner with Culture Works to introduce the Residents of the Park to another amenity that the Miami Valley has to offer.  Bringing local performers to the Park not only supports their talents but strengthens the ties of the Research Park to the community.
